For this project the client wanted a unique and unusual structure for a covered outdoor eating area. Below is pictured the resulting jointed and pegged frame made.
from round larch logs with metal bracing and a shingle roof. It was an enjoyable challenge to make, and a true one-off.  


Built on a tight budget, with timber donated by a local company, the resulting structure has a beautiful, busy roof to gaze at and (very) bendy posts with rounded-off edges for hands to enjoy touching.

The reciprocal roof (where each principal rafter supports and is supported by its neighbour) naturally leaves an aperture in the centre of the roof to let out the smoke from the firepit below...
